I will lose 30 pounds

I will lose 30 pounds. I will lose 30 pounds. This is my intention. This is my affirmation. I have more but this is the one specific to this blog.

**If you believe the phrase "you are what you think", then life truly stems from your thoughts. But we cannot rely purely on thoughts; we must translate thoughts into words and eventually into actions in order to manifest our intentions. This means we have to be very careful with our words, choosing to speak only those which work towards our benefit and cultivate our highest good. Affirmations help purify our thoughts and restructure the dynamic of our brains so that we truly begin to think nothing is impossible. The word affirmation comes from the Latin originally meaning "to make steady, strengthen."** Read more here.

I have believed in the power of positive thinking and affirmations for many years. Unfortunately, I have never cared about myself enough to allow these things to make a permanent home in my brain. They have always been muscled out my negative thoughts and therefore negative actions. The one time in my life I held tightly to an affirmation/intention, I ended up where I wanted to, with what I wanted. So when I'm doubtful during this journey, I will draw strength from that time and my beautiful family - the destination of the affirmation.

Although January 1st is a busy time for setting goals, I'm joining in. My timing is NOW.
